Verify that the left high beam headlamp is inoperative.

Do the headlamps operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the right high beam headlamp connector.
  2. Move the headlamp switch to the HEAD position.
  3. Move the multifunction switch to the HIGH BEAM position.
  4. Connect a test lamp from the headlamp, LH high beam connector terminal A to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp from the headlamp, LH high beam connector terminal A to terminal B. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Locate and repair the open or high resistance in CKT 524 (PPL) between the headlamp, LH high beam connector and the underhood fuse block. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the headlamp high beam bulb. Refer to Headlamp Bulb Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 10

Connect a test lamp from DRL relay pin 3 to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Replace the DRL relay.

Is the repair complete?

Locate and repair the open or high resistance in CKT 711 (DK GRN/WHT) between the underhood fuse block and the headlamp LH high beam bulb Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems..

Is the repair complete?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
