Removal Procedure

Important: Remove the anchor bracket only under the following circumstances.

   • The anchor bracket is damaged.
   • You are removing the rotor for refinishing or other service.

  1. Remove the caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 144130  Size: SH
  3. Remove the anchor bracket bolts.
  4. Disconnect the anchor bracket from the mounting plate.
  5. Remove the parking brake rear cable. Refer to Park Brake Cable Replacement in Park Brake.
  6. Remove the parking brake shoe and lining. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement in Park Brake.
  7. Remove the rear axle shaft. Refer to Axle Shaft Replacement in Rear Drive Axle.
  8. Remove the mounting plate bolts, washers, and nuts.
  9. Remove the mounting plate from the axle housing.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the mounting plate to the axle housing.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the mounting bolts to 65 N·m (47 lb ft).

  3. Install the rear axle shaft. Refer to Axle Shaft Replacement in Rear Drive Axle.
  4. Install the rear parking brake shoe and lining. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement in Park Brake.
  5. Install the parking brake rear cable. Refer to Park Brake Cable Replacement in Park Brake.

  7. Install the anchor bracket to the mounting plate.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the anchor bracket mounting bolts to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).

  9. Install the caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Replacement .
