Engine Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement RWD

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 3913  Size: SH
  1. Remove the engine oil cooler lines from the radiator oil cooler.

  2. Object Number: 4031  Size: SH
  3. Remove the engine oil cooler lines from the oil filter adapter.

  4. Object Number: 180323  Size: SH
  5. Remove the attaching clamp bolt.
  6. Remove the attaching clamp.

  7. Object Number: 4031  Size: SH
  8. Remove the engine oil cooler lines from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 180323  Size: SH
  1. Install the engine oil cooler lines to the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 4031  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Connect the engine oil cooler lines to the oil filter adapter.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the line nuts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Connect the engine oil cooler lines to the radiator oil cooler.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the line nuts to 31 N·m (23 lb ft).

Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the attaching clamp and the bolt.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  9. Fill the engine with oil to the proper level.
  10. Start the engine and check for leaks.

Engine Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement S4WD

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 42867  Size: SH
  1. Remove the engine oil cooler lines from the radiator.

  2. Object Number: 180318  Size: SH
  3. Remove the bolt attaching the engine oil cooler lines to the remote (frame mounted) oil filter adapter.
  4. Remove the O-rings.

  5. Object Number: 3916  Size: SH
  6. Remove the engine oil cooler lines from the vehicle.

  7. Object Number: 3917  Size: SH
  8. Remove the bolt attaching the engine oil cooler lines from the remote (frame mounted) adapter to the engine (mounted) adapter.
  9. Remove the O-rings.

  10. Object Number: 180304  Size: SH
  11. Remove the nut and the bolt securing the engine oil cooler lines to the clamp.

  12. Object Number: 3918  Size: SH
  13. Remove the bolt attaching the cooler lines to the engine (mounted) adapter.
  14. Remove the engine oil cooler lines from the engine.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 3918  Size: SH
  1. Install the O-rings on both ends of both lines.
  2. Install the cooler lines between the two oil filter adapters.

  3. Object Number: 3917  Size: SH
  4. Install the two attaching bolts.

  5. Object Number: 180304  Size: SH
  6. Attach the lines to the bracket with the nut and the bolt.
  7. Tighten

        • Tighten the line to adapter attaching bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).
        • Tighten the clamp attaching nut and bolt to 6.5 N·m (58 lb in).

    Object Number: 3916  Size: SH
  8. Install the O-rings to the engine oil cooler lines (connecting the frame mounted adapter to the radiator).
  9. Install the cooler lines from the frame (mounted) adapter to the radiator (mounted) oil cooler.
  10. Install the attaching bolt to the remote adapter.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the attaching bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  12. Connect the oil cooler lines to the radiator oil cooler.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the line nuts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  14. Fill engine with oil to the proper level.
  15. Start the engine and check for leaks.
