Schematic Reference: Exterior Lights Schematics

DEFINITION: The right or left turn signal lamps are always illuminated and flashing.

Did you review the exterior lighting operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Go to Step 2

  1. Verify that the turn signal lever is not in the LEFT or RIGHT turn positions.
  2. Observe the turn signal lamps.

Are the turn signal lamps OFF?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Disconnect the turn signal/hazard switch connector C1.

Do the turn signal lamps illuminate and flash?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Test the turn input circuit of the appropriate side for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 7

Replace the multifunction switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column.

Replace the hazard flasher.
