Did you review the interior lighting operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Go to Step 2

Go to Symptoms - Lighting Systems

1. Place the dome lamp switch in the DOOR position.
2. Close the driver's door.

Is the dome lamp OFF?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Place the dome lamp switch in the OFF position.

Does the dome lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 4

1. Place the dome lamp switch in the DOOR position.
2. Disconnect the door jamb switch.

Does the dome lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 7

Repair a short to ground in the dome lamp control circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 8

Replace the dome lamp assembly. Refer to Dome Lamp Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 8

Replace the door jamb switch. Refer to Front Side Door Jamb Switch Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 8

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
