Special Tools

    • EN-45059 Torque Angle Sensor Kit
    • EN-48249 Piston Ring Compressor

    Object Number: 2028005 Size: SH
  1. Turn the piston rings before the installation to a position (A, B, C) as in the graphic shown.

    2. Object Number: 2028004 Size: SH
  2. The markings (1) on piston head must point to the timing side.

    3. Object Number: 2028000 Size: SH
  3. Lubricate the piston rings, piston (1), inner cylinder bore surface and EN-48249 compressor  (2) with clean engine oil.

    4. Object Number: 2027987 Size: SH
  4. Install the 4  pistons with 4 connecting rods (1) push down into the engine block.
  5. Install the connecting rod bearings (4) to the connecting rod bearing caps (2).

    6. Note: Take extreme care to prevent any scratches or damages to the connecting rod bearings.

  6. Install the 8 connecting rod bearings (4).

    7. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  7. Install the 8 connecting rod bearing cap bolts (3) and tighten in two passes:
    8. 7.1. In first pass tighten to  25 N·m (19 lb ft)
    7.2. In second pass tighten to  90 degrees using the EN-45059 angle sensor .
