DEFINITION: Transmission selects Neutral without any driver action.

Check for loose clutch housing bolts. Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications.

Are the bolts tightened to specifications?

Go to Step 3

Tighten the clutch housing bolts to the specified torque.

1. Remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement.
2. Disassemble the transmission. Refer to Transmission Disassemble.
3. Look for the following list of causes:

•	Gearshift components worn or damaged.

•	Gear teeth worn or tapered.

•	Synchronizer assemblies worn or damaged.

•	Excessive end play in components.

•	Bearing components are worn or damaged.

4. Replace all worn or damaged parts.
