Removal Procedure
- Remove the manual transaxle from the vehicle. Refer to
Transmission Replacement
in Manual Transmission - MB4 and MB5.
- Remove the clutch release bearing and
the clutch release fork at the same time.
- Remove the clutch release bearing from the clutch release fork.
- Clean the clutch release bearing using a clean dry solvent free
cloth.
- Inspect the clutch release bearing for external damage and smooth
rotation. Replace the clutch release bearing for the following conditions:
• | The bearings do not operate smoothly. |
Installation Procedure
- Lubricate the clutch release bearing
using a thin coat of wheel bearing grease of GM P/N 1051344 (or equivalent).
- Install the clutch release bearing to the clutch release fork.
- Install the clutch release bearing and the clutch release fork
assembly onto the transaxle assembly.
- Install the transaxle assembly into the vehicle. Refer to
Transmission Replacement
in Manual Transmission - MB4 and MB5.
