Removal Procedure

Relief the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief.

  1. Disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector.
  2. Loosen the air cleaner (ACL) hose clamp bolt.

  3. Disconnect the four cap clips from the ACL.
  4. Disconnect the ACL hose and cap from the engine compartment.
  5. Disconnect the two evaporative emission (EVAP) hoses from EVAP canister.
  6. Remove the one bolt and the EVAP canister from the EVAP canister bracket.
  7. Remove the one bolt (1) and fuel feed outlet hose from the top of the fuel filter (2).
  8. Remove the two bolts and fuel filter from the fuel filter bracket.
  9. Remove the one nut and fuel feed inlet pipe from the bottom of the fuel filter.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1579031  Size: SH
  1. Install the fuel filter to the fuel filter bracket; secure with the two bolts.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel filter bracket bolts to 4.9  N·m (43 lb in).

  3. Disconnect the fuel feed inlet pipe to bottom to fuel filter; secure with one bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel feed inlet pipe nut to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  5. Insert the new gaskets onto the fuel feed outlet hose to pipe connection.
  6. Connect the fuel feed outlet hose to the top of the fuel filter; secure with one bolt.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel feed outlet hose bolt to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).

  8. Install the EVAP canister to the EVAP canister bracket; secure with one bolt.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel feed outlet hose bolt to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).

  10. Connect the two EVAP hoses to the EVAP canister; secure with one clamp.
  11. Connect the ACL hose and cap to engine compartment; secure with four clips.
  12. Connect the IAT sensor electrical connector.
