Removal Procedure
Relief the fuel system pressure. Refer to
Fuel Pressure Relief.
- Disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector.
Loosen the air cleaner (ACL) hose clamp bolt.
- Disconnect the four cap clips from the ACL.
- Disconnect the ACL hose and cap from the engine compartment.
- Disconnect the two evaporative emission (EVAP) hoses from EVAP canister.
- Remove the one bolt and the EVAP canister from the EVAP canister bracket.
- Remove the one bolt (1) and fuel feed outlet hose from the top of the fuel filter (2).
- Remove the two bolts and fuel filter from the fuel filter bracket.
- Remove the one nut and fuel feed inlet pipe from the bottom of the fuel filter.
Installation Procedure
- Install the fuel filter to the fuel filter bracket; secure with the two bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the fuel filter bracket bolts to 4.9 N·m (43 lb in).
- Disconnect the fuel feed inlet pipe to bottom to fuel filter; secure with one bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the fuel feed inlet pipe nut to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
- Insert the new gaskets onto the fuel feed outlet hose to pipe connection.
- Connect the fuel feed outlet hose to the top of the fuel filter; secure with one bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the fuel feed outlet hose bolt to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).
- Install the EVAP canister to the EVAP canister bracket; secure with one bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the fuel feed outlet hose bolt to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).
- Connect the two EVAP hoses to the EVAP canister; secure with one clamp.
- Connect the ACL hose and cap to engine compartment; secure with four clips.
- Connect the IAT sensor electrical connector.
