  1. Press and hold the compass and temperature display module in the ON and the OFF position.
  2. Simultaneously press and hold the U.S./metric buttons.
  3. Place the ignition switch in the RUN position.

Do all of the display segments light for 2 seconds and go OFF for 2 seconds?

  1. One of the following error codes appears in the display:

    • E2
    • E3
  3. Replace the compass and temperature display module.

Is the replacement complete?

Does the display read E with a number within the specified range for approximately 2 seconds?

1-14 (east-west compensation value)

Does the display show a number within the specified range for approximately 2 seconds?

  1. The self diagnostic routine is complete.
  2. The routine will go through the normal prove out sequence and return to the normal display mode.
  3. Both of the north-south and the east-west compensation values should be ideally 7 or 8.

Are the values between the specified values?
