Tools Required

1. Remove the nut, flat washer, and rubber sealing washer securing the yoke to the front output shaft.
2. Remove the nut, flat washer, and rubber sealing washer securing the yoke to the rear output shaft.
3. Split the tone wheel with a chisel to remove.
4. Remove the tone wheel stop snap ring from the mainshaft.



5. Using J 8059 , remove the rear output bearing snap ring from the mainshaft.
6. Remove the case bolts from the case.
7. Remove the rear case from the front case.



8. Disconnect the connector from the clutch coil wire.
9. Remove the three clutch coil nuts from the clutch coil.
10. Remove the clutch coil from the rear case half.
11. Remove the O-ring from the clutch coil.
12. Remove the shift rail spring from the shift rail.



13. Remove the clutch coil housing snap ring and the clutch coil housing from the mainshaft.
14. Remove the synchronizer shift collar hub from the synchronizer.



15. Remove the synchronizer from the mainshaft drive gear.
16. Remove the mode shift fork from the shift rail.



17. Remove the drive gear, the driven gear front sprocket, and the drive chain from the front output shaft and front case.

Note the orientation of the master link.




18. Remove the oil pump and the mainshaft from the input carrier and the front case.



19. Remove the shift rail from the input carrier.
20. Remove the range fork from the input carrier.
21. Remove the shift hub from the input carrier.



22. Remove the annulus gear snap ring from the front case.



23. Remove the annulus gear from the front case.
24. Remove the input shaft oil seal from the front case.



25. Remove the carrier snap ring from the carrier input shaft.



26. Remove the input carrier assembly and the power take off drive gear from the front case.



27. Remove the retaining clip from the selector shaft.
28. Remove the selector shaft from the front case.
29. Remove the selector from the front case.
30. Remove the dent spring from the front case.
31. Remove the dent roller from the front case.



32. Remove the front input bearing snap ring from the front case.



33. Using J 8092 and J 29169 , remove the front input bearing from the front case.
34. Using J 8092 andJ 33832 , remove the rear output bearing from the rear case half.



35. Using J 2619-01 and J 29369 , remove the front output shaft rear bearing from the rear case.
36. Remove the front output shaft seal from the front case.



37. Remove the front output bearing snap ring from the front case.



38. Using J 8092 and J 33832 , remove the front output bearing from the front case.
39. Remove the rear output shaft seal from the rear bearing retainer.
40. Remove the synchronizer hub snap ring from the synchronizer hub.
41. Remove the lockup hub and compression spring from the lockup collar.



42. Remove the mainshaft from the oil pump.
43. Remove the oil pump cover bolts and the oil pump cover from the oil pump body.
44. Remove the oil pump drive gear from the oil pump body.
45. Remove the oil pump driven gear from the oil pump body.
46. Remove the retainer from the pick up tube.
47. Remove the pick up tube and the oil pump pickup from the oil pump body.
48. Remove the oil pump pickup from the pickup tube.
49. Remove the retainer ring.
50. Remove the needle bearings from the mainshaft.
