Tools Required

1. Set the steering column and J 41352 into a vise.

Important: Align the block tooth on the race and upper shaft assembly to the 12 o' clock position.

2. Place the ignition switch in the LOCK position and remove the key.
3. Check the steering column jacket assembly for accident damage. Refer to Steering Column Accident Damage Inspection - Off Vehicle .
4. If necessary, remove the wire harness assembly strap (1) and any other wire harness straps.



5. Remove the bearing retainer (1) using J 23653-SIR .



6. Remove the steering shaft spacer (1).
7. Remove the turn signal cancel cam (2).
8. Remove the upper bearing spring (3).
9. Remove the upper bearing inner race seat (4).
10. Remove the inner race (5).
