Disassembly Procedure
  1. Remove the steering column housing. Refer to Steering Column Jacket - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .
  2. Remove the ignition switch assembly. Refer to Ignition Switch Assembly - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .

    3. Object Number: 378829 Size: SH
  3. Remove the lower bearing adapter clip (4).
  4. Remove the adapter and bearing retainer (3).
  5. Remove the bearing assembly (2).
  6. Remove the adapter and bearing assembly (1).

    7. Object Number: 369115 Size: SH
  7. Remove the 4 support screws (1) .
  8. Remove the steering column housing support assembly (3) with the dimmer switch rod (2) still attached.
  9. Remove the lock plate (4).

    10. Object Number: 343889 Size: SH
  10. Remove the steering shaft assembly.

    11. Object Number: 295954 Size: SH

    Important: Mark the upper shaft assembly and the steering shaft assembly to ensure proper assembly. Failure to assemble properly will cause the steering wheel to be turned 180 degrees.

  11. Tilt the upper shaft assembly 90 degrees to the steering shaft assembly and disengage. If necessary, remove and discard the old centering sphere and spring.
