Removal Procedure
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
- Remove the engine protection shield. Refer to Engine Protection Shield Replacement.
- Remove the fill plug.
- Remove the drain plug and the washer.
- Drain the fluid from the differential carrier assembly.
Installation Procedure
- Install the drain plug and the washer. Tighten the drain plug to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).
- Fill the differential carrier assembly with lubricant. Use the proper fluid. Refer to Approximate Fluid Capacities and Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations.
- Install the fill plug and tighten to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).
- Install the engine protection shield. Refer to Engine Protection Shield Replacement.
- Lower the vehicle.
