Endgate Glass Scratch (Remove Locating Tab From Sealing Strip/Replace Glass)

Some customers may comment that there is a scratch in the center of the endgate glass.

The metal locating tab for the glass seal strip may be contacting the glass when operating the glass up or down.

Remove the metal locating tab from the sealing strip.

1. Lower the endgate window.
2. Place a piece of tape on the center of the sealing strip and endgate. Cut the tape between the seal and the endgate. Use this as a reference when installing the seal.
3. Remove the endgate window sealing strip by carefully pulling it straight up off the endgate pinchweld flanges.



4. Remove the metal locating tab from the sealing strip as seen in the illustration above. Use a screwdriver and carefully remove the metal locating tab.
5. Replace the endgate glass. Refer to Window Replacement - Endgate (SI Document ID #1218651).
