Condition 1


Object Number: 1442056  Size: SH

Water runs along "D" pillar trim and drops on the floor. Refer to the arrows in the illustration above.

Cause


Object Number: 1448106  Size: SH

Mastic under the weatherstrip is not sealing to the retaining flange at the butt joint. Refer to the illustration above for location.

Correction


Object Number: 1442057  Size: SH

The first task arrow shows the weatherstrip being removed and the second arrow shows where the seam sealer should be installed under the weatherstrip. Refer to the illustration above. Now that the front weatherstrip is removed, remove the fastener and rearward weatherstrip and apply sealer under it as shown in the illustration below with KENT High Techâ„¢ Seam Sealer, P/N 10095. Similar in size and shape as the illustration.

Condition 2

Water runs along "D" pillar trim and drops on the floor.

Cause


Object Number: 1442058  Size: SH

The seal along the "D" pillar may not be making contact to the glass. Refer to the arrow in the illustration above.

Correction


Object Number: 1442059  Size: SH

With a block of wood, adjust the "D" pillar weatherstrip flange outward toward the glass. Refer to the arrow in the illustration above.

Condition 3

Water enters the passenger area in the center of the midgate.

Cause


Object Number: 1442060  Size: SH

Water coming out of the midgate drain comes in contact with the torsion rod and is deflected toward the carpet. Refer to the arrow in the illustration above.

Correction


Object Number: 1442061  Size: SH

Using a screwdriver similar to the size of the drain, bend the drain hole slightly rearward. Refer to the arrow in the illustration above.

Condition 4


Object Number: 1442062  Size: SH

Water enters passenger area at lower "C" pillar trim or along the sill plate. Refer to the illustration.

Cause


Object Number: 1442063  Size: SH

The door may not be properly fitted. The seal does not touch the door header. Refer to the arrow in the illustration above.

Correction

Refit the door so that it has contact to the primary seal.

Condition 5


Object Number: 1442064  Size: SH

Water enters the passenger area in front of drain area. Refer to the illustration above.

Cause

The drain may be plugged or the drain may not have additional slits in the base of it.

Correction


Object Number: 1442065  Size: SH

Remove debris from the drain. Check for four slits in the end of the drain. Originally the drain only had two slits in it. If the drain only has two slits in it, use a razor blade and put two more slits in it at the same depth as the other two. Refer to the arrows in the illustration above.

Condition 6


Object Number: 1442066  Size: SH

Water enters the passenger area at the latch on the midgate. Refer to the illustration above.

Cause

The foam seal may not be properly installed to the midgate.

Correction


Object Number: 1442067  Size: SH

With the rubber weatherstrip removed from the top of the midgate, check for proper installation of the foam gasket. Refer to the illustration above.

Condition 7


Object Number: 1442068  Size: SH

Water enters the passenger area in front of the drain through forward of the midgate, 76 to 127 mm (3 to 5 in) inboard of the "C" pillar. Refer to the arrow in the illustration above.

Cause

There may be a skip in the body sealer seam between the primary drain trough at the rear cargo floor, from one wheel house to the other wheel house.

Correction

Clean the area and seal with seam sealer.

Condition 8


Object Number: 1442069  Size: SH

Water enters the passenger area at the "C" pillar seat belt access hole. Refer to the illustration above.

Cause


Object Number: 1444992  Size: SH

A body seam under the roof rail may not be sealed properly at the area shown in the illustration above.

Correction


Object Number: 1444995  Size: SH

Remove the roof module. Clean the seam and add sealer to the area as shown in the illustration above. (Left side shown)
