Subject: | Left Rear Door Window May Bind When Traveling Up or Down |
Models: | 2007 Chevrolet Colorado |
2007 GMC Canyon |
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Some customers may comment that when using the left rear door glass, the glass may bind in the door. This may be the result of a mis-adjusted door glass run channel. If this channel is not adjusted correctly, as the glass lowers it may lower between the run channel weather-strip and the metal edge of the run channel. Proper alignment will allow the glass to lower in the center of the run channel weather-strip.
Roll the left rear door glass up and down 3 times. If the door glass has bound, remove the door trim and adjust the run channel as necessary to allow smooth door glass operation. DO NOT replace the window regulator for a misadjusted run channel unless the regulator has been damaged.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
