Preliminary Procedure

  1. Remove the lift gate interior trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement.
  2. Remove the back up lamp assembly bulb socket from the back up lamp applique.

Back Up Lamp Applique Nut (Qty: 2)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
6 N·m (53 lb in)

Back Up Lamp Clamp (Qty: 2)

Tip
Remove the clamps from the lamp assembly in order to remove the lamp from the liftgate.

Back Up Lamp Applique Assembly

Backup Lamp Applique Replacement Acadia

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1868340 Size: SH
  1. Remove the liftgate interior trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement.
  2. Disconnect the backup lamp and running lamp electrical connectors.
  3. Remove the screw (1) securing the lamp assembly bracket (2) to the rear auxiliary back up lamp assembly.
  4. Remove the bracket.

  5. Remove the auxiliary back up lamp assembly nuts (1).
  6. Disconnect the backup lamp bulb socket (2) and bulb (3).

    7. Object Number: 1868344 Size: SH
  7. Pull the backup lamp assembly (2) from the outer liftgate filler panel.
  8. Remove the lamp assembly gasket (1).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1868344 Size: SH
  1. Position the backup lamp gasket (1) to the auxiliary back up lamp assembly (2).
  2. Insert the backup lamp assembly into the holes in the outer liftgate filler panel.

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1868343 Size: SH
  3. Install the nuts (1).

    4. Tighten
    5 N·m (44 lb in).

  4. Install the back up lamp bulb (3) into the bulb socket (2).
  5. Install the bulb assembly into the lamp.

    6. Object Number: 1868340 Size: SH
  6. Position the auxiliary backup lamp bracket (2) onto the backup lamp assembly.
  7. Install the screw (1).

    8. Tighten
    2 N·m(18 lb in).

  8. Connect the backup lamp and running lamp electrical connectors.
  9. Install the interior liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement.

  2. Disconnect the electrical connector at the back up lamp applique.

Back Up Lamp Applique Nut (Qty: 3)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
6 N·m (53 lb in)

Integral Clips (Qty: 2)

Tip
Release the clips securing the lamp assembly to the liftgate outer filler panel and push outward.

Tip
Ensure the gasket is in place prior to the back up lamp applique installation.
