Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement LY7

Caution: Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Caution in the Preface section.

Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

1. Remove the wiper arms. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement.
2. Remove the air inlet grille. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement.
3. Turn the ignition OFF.




Important: Cap the fittings and plug the holes when servicing the fuel system in order to prevent dirt and other contaminants from entering open pipes and passages.

4. Disconnect the purge line (1) from the purge valve solenoid (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
5. Disconnect the purge valve solenoid electrical connector (2).




Important: Cap the fittings and plug the holes when servicing the fuel system in order to prevent dirt and other contaminants from entering open pipes and passages.

6. Disconnect the purge line (2) from the manifold side of the purge valve solenoid (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
7. Remove the purge valve solenoid (3) from the fuel injector harness electrical connector/EVAP valve mounting bracket (1).

1. Install the purge valve solenoid (3) to the fuel injector harness electrical connector/EVAP valve mounting bracket (1).
2. Connect the purge line (2) from the manifold side of the purge valve solenoid (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.



3. Connect the purge line (1) from the purge valve solenoid (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
4. Connect the purge valve solenoid electrical connector (2).
5. Install the air inlet grille. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement.
6. Install the wiper arms. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement.
