Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Go to Step 2

Verify the console, instrument panel compartment and trunk lamps are inoperative.

Do the console, instrument panel compartment and trunk lamps operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

Test the battery voltage circuit between the instrument panel electrical centre (IPEC) and the body control module (BCM) for a open or short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs.

Did you find and correct the condition?

System OK

Go to Step 4

  1. Ignition OFF.
  2. Disconnect the X2 connector from the BCM.
  3. Make sure fuse F4 is serviceable.
  4. Ignition ON, engine OFF.

Did fuse F4 blow?

Repair the short to ground in the courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs.

Replace the BCM. Refer to Control Module References , for replacement, setup, and programming.
