CH 558-10 Closure Cap
For equivalent regional tools, refer to
Special Tools.
Warning: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning in the Preface section.
Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution in the Preface section.
Removal Procedure
- Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
Note: Do NOT disconnect engine coolant hoses.
- Remove the radiator surge tank clip (2).
- Remove the radiator surge tank (1).
Position the radiator surge tank (1) aside.
- Remove the brake fluid reservoir cap and install
CH 558-10 cap
(1) in order to
prevent fluid loss and contamination.
Caution: Always connect or disconnect the wiring harness connector from the EBCM/EBTCM with the ignition switch in the OFF position. Failure to observe this precaution could result in damage to the EBCM/EBTCM.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the EBCM/EBTCM.
Note: Cap the brake pipe fittings to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
- Remove the 6 brake pipes (1, 2) from the BPMV.
- Remove the 2 BPMV bracket bolts (2).
- Remove the BPMV bracket assembly (1).
- Remove the 3 BMPV bracket bolts (4).
- Remove the BMPV (2).
- Remove the BMPV insulator (1) from the BMPV bracket (4).
Installation Procedure
- Install the BMPV insulator (1) to the BMPV bracket (3).
- Install the BMPV (2).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the 3 BMPV bracket bolts (4). Tighten the BMPV bracket bolts
10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the BPMV bracket assembly (1).
- Install the 2 BPMV bracket bolts (2) and tighten to
20 N·m (15 lb ft).
Note: Cap the brake pipe fittings to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
- Install the 6 brake pipes (1, 2) to the BPMV and tighten to
18 N·m (14 lb ft).
- Connect the electrical connector to the EBCM/EBTCM.
Caution: When adding fluid to the brake fluid reservoir or to the clutch fluid reservoir, use only Super DOT-4 or equivalent DOT-4 brake fluid
from a clean, sealed container. This polyglycol brake fluid is hygroscopic and absorbs moisture. Do not use fluid from an open container that may be contaminated with water. Improper or contaminated fluid could result in damage to the system components.
- Remove the
CH 558-10 cap
(1) and install the brake fluid reservoir cap.
- Install the radiator surge tank (1).
- Install the radiator surge tank clip (2).
- Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to
Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding.
