Removal Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Vehicle Lifting and Jacking Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1265663 Size: SH
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
  2. Disconnect the brake line fitting nut from the brake hose support bracket on the wheel housing on each side of the vehicle.
  3. Remove the E-ring retainer.

    4. Object Number: 1265664 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the brake hose from the "C" bracket on the strut assembly.

    5. Object Number: 1265666 Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolt from the brake caliper.
  6. Remove the seal rings and the brake hose.
    7. • Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
    • Check the brake system for leaks.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1265666 Size: SH
  1. Install the seal rings and the brake hose.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the bolt to the brake caliper.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

  3. Connect the brake hose to the C bracket on the strut assembly.
  4. Install the E-ring retainer.

    5. Object Number: 1265663 Size: SH
  5. Connect the brake line fitting nut to the brake hose support bracket on the wheel housing on each side of the vehicle.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the brake line fitting nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft)
