Inspect the chime fuse F16.

Is the fuse open?

  1. Inspect for a short circuit and repair it if necessary.
  2. Replace the fuse.

Did you complete the repair?

  1. Turn ON the ignition.
  2. Open the drivers door.
  3. Use a voltmeter to measure for power at fuse F16.

Does the voltage measure the specified value?

11-14 V

Go to Step 5

Repair the open power supply circuit to fuse F16.

Inspect for an open circuit between fuse F16 and terminal 8 of the chime module connector.

Is the circuit open?

Go to Step 6

Repair the open circuit.

Did you complete the repair?

  1. Disconnect the chime module electrical connector.
  2. Connect an ohmmeter between terminal 5 of the chime module connector and ground.

Does the resistance measure the specified value?

0 ohms

Go to Step 9

Repair the open ground circuit between ground and terminal 5 of the chime module connector.

Did you complete the repair?

System OK

  1. Disconnect the chime module electrical connector.
  2. Connect an ohmmeter between terminal 16 of the chime module connector and ground.
  3. Leave the drivers door open.

Does the resistance measure the specified value?

0 ohms

Go to Step 10

Replace the chime module.
