The inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil assembly contains 4 wires used by the steering wheel controls. The 4 wires allow the voltage to be applied while the steering wheel is being turned.
The radio control switch controls the volume and the station frequency. The radio control switch receives power from the RSA/SWC Reference power circuit from the radio via CKT 314. Press the switch to the desired function in order to allow a different voltage output through CKT 1796 to the radio for each switch pressed. This change in voltage is provided by a network of series resistors inside the steering wheel control switches.
