Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover.

J 25070 Heat Gun.

Removal Procedure
  1. Open The door.
  2. Using J 38778 remove the door body side molding to lower door body side molding push-in retainer.

    3. Object Number: 441634 Size: SH

    Important:  Do not flex the door body side molding more than 102 mm (4 in) when separating the door body side molding from the outer door.

  3. Using J 25070 , heat the lower edge of the door body side molding using a circular motion 152 mm (6 in) from the door body side molding for 60 seconds.

    4. Object Number: 319606 Size: SH
  4. In order to separate the door body side molding from the lower door body side molding retainer, pull the lower edge of the door body side molding out from the lower door body side molding retainer.
  5. Using J 38778 separate the lower outer edges of the door body side molding from the outer door panel.
  6. Pull the center of the door body side molding out evenly to release the door body side molding from the door body side molding upper retainer.
  7. Lift the door body side molding up to release the door body side molding from the edge of the door body side molding upper retainer.
  8. Remove the door body side molding from the door.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 319606 Size: SH
  1. Position the upper edge of the door body side molding to the upper door body side molding retainer.
  2. Press down on the upper edge of the door body side molding into the upper door body side molding retainer until fully seated.
  3. Press in on the center of the door body side molding with both hands and continue to press outward until the door body side molding is fully seated into the door body side molding upper retainer.
  4. Position the door body side molding lower outer edge push-in retainers to the openings in the outer door panel.
  5. Press in on the door body side molding lower outer edges until fully seated into the outer door panel.
  6. Position the lower edge of the door body side molding to the door body side molding lower retainer.
  7. Press in on the lower edge of the door body side molding until fully seated.
  8. Install the door body side molding to lower door body side molding push-in retainer.
  9. Close the door.
