Door Striker Replacement Manual

1. Open the front door.
2. Scribe the location of the existing front door lock striker on the B-pillar with a grease pencil.



3. Remove the front door lock striker screws.
4. Remove the front door lock striker from B-pillar.

1. Install the front door lock striker to the scribed location on the B-pillar.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Install the front door lock striker screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

Important: 

•	Ensure that the front door striker properly engages with the front door lock once the front door is adjusted within the door frame.

•	Use the front door striker in order to ensure the front door is flush.

•	Do not use the front door striker in order to raise or lower the front door.

3. Close the front door.

Door Striker Replacement Power Sliding Door

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

1. Open the power sliding door.



2. Use J 38778 in order to unsnap the pillar mounted striker push-in retainers from the pillar.
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the pillar mounted striker.
4. Remove the pillar mounted striker from the pillar.

1. Install the pillar mounted striker to the pillar.
2. Connect the electrical connectors from the pillar mounted striker.
3. Install the push-in retainers in order to secure the pillar mounted striker to the pillar.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
5. For the power sliding door only, perform the reinitialization procedure. Refer to Power Sliding Door (PSD) Re-Initialization .
