You may play a CD (compact disc) if the vehicle has a remote compact disc player.
Hold the disc with the label side up. Carefully insert the disc into the player (approximately half way) in order to load a CD into the player. The disc will automatically be pulled into the player. The radio will turn on and begin playing the CD, if the following conditions exist:
• | The radio is in the OFF position. |
• | The ignition is in the ON position. |
It is possible to load and unload CDs with the ignition in the OFF position. Perform the following steps in order to load a disc with the ignition in the OFF position:

A disc that has been ejected but is still in the remote CD player will be pulled back into the player after approximately 30 seconds. This protects the disc and the player from damage. The disc will not start playing. Perform the following steps in order to remove the disc:
All of the compact disc functions are controlled by the radio buttons except for EJECT. When a disc is in the player, a CD symbol will appear on the display. When a disc is playing, the letters CD will appear next to the CD symbol in the bottom left corner. The track number will also be displayed.
If the disc ejects and ERR appears on the display, the following list cites possible causes:
• | The disc is upside down. |
• | The disc is dirty, scratched or wet. |
• | There is too much moisture in the air. |
Wait about 1 hour and try again. |
• | The road you are driving on is very rough. |
Press this button in order to go back to the start of the current track, if more than 8 seconds have played. Press PREV again in order to go to the previous track on the disc.
Press this button in order to advance to the next track on the disc.
Press and hold this button in order to quickly reverse within a track. As the CD reverses, elapsed time will be displayed in order to help you find the correct passage.
Press and hold this button in order to quickly advance within a track. As the CD advances, elapsed time will be displayed in order to help you find the correct passage.
Press the left arrow while playing a CD in order to go back to the start of the current track. The CD will go back to the start of the current track if more than 8 seconds have played. Press the left arrow again in order to go to previous tracks. Press the right arrow in order to go to the next higher track on the disc.
Press P.SCAN in order to enter the random play mode. RANDOM will appear on the display. While in this mode, the tracks on the discs will be played in random order. The PREV or NEXT track will be scanned randomly if you press one of the following buttons while in the random mode:
• | SEEK |
• | PREV |
• | NEXT |
Press P.SCAN again in order to turn off RANDOM and return to the normal operation.
Press the RECALL button in order to see what track is currently playing. Press RECALL again within 5 seconds to see the amount of time the track has been playing. The track number will also appear when a new track starts to play. Press RECALL a third time in order to display the time of day.
Press the TAPE AUX button once in order to play the compact disc, when a disc is loaded in the player and the radio is playing. Press AM-FM in order to return to playing the radio. Press TAPE AUX in order to switch between the tape and the compact disc if both a cassette tape and compact disc are loaded.
Press this button on the remote player in order to eject a compact disc.

Press the PREV (1) button in order to go back to the start of the current track, if more than 8 seconds have played. Press PREV again in order to go to the previous track on the disc.

Press the number 4 preset button in order to enter the random play mode. RDM will appear on the display. The tracks on the discs will be played in random order while in this mode. The PREV or NEXT track will be scanned randomly if you press one of the following button while in the random mode:

Press the number 4 preset button again in order to turn off RDM and return to the normal operation.
Press the RECALL button in order to see what track is currently playing. Press RECALL again within 5 seconds to see the amount of time the track has been playing. The track number will also appear when a new track starts to play. Press RECALL a third time in order to display the time of day.
Press the TAPE PLAY button once in order to play the compact disc, when a disc is loaded in the player and the radio is playing. Press AM-FM in order to return to playing the radio. Press TAPE PLAY in order to switch between the tape and the compact disc, if both a cassette tape and compact disc are loaded.
Press the EJECT button on the remote player in order to eject a compact disc.
