Inspect the park lamp fuse at the underhood accessory junction block.

1. Disconnect the radio connector C1.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
3. Use a test lamp in order to test the voltage between the radio harness connector C1 terminal 7 and ground.
4. Turn on the headlamps.
5. Vary the IP lamp dimmer switch setting while observing the test lamp.

Does the test lamp brightness vary?

1. Use a test lamp in order to backprobe between the headlamp switch terminal G and ground.
2. Turn the headlamp switch to the ON position.
3. Vary the IP lamp dimmer switch while observing the test lamp.

Go to Step 6

1. Inspect the connection at the radio harness connector terminal C1 terminal 7.
2. Repair the connection as needed.
3. If the terminals are OK, service the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement .

1. Inspect for a faulty connection at the headlamp connector terminal G.
2. If the connection is OK, replace the headlamp switch. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement in Lighting Systems.

Repair the faulty connection or the open in CKT 230 between the radio connector C1 and the headlamp switch.
