DEFINITION: The following conditions exist:

•	The interior courtesy lamps stay on with all of the doors closed.

•	The instrument panel (IP) dimmer switch is off.

•	The interior lamps override switch is on (the interior courtesy lights are enabled).

•	None of the interior lighting modes are activated.

•	The inadvertent load (battery rundown) protection does not turn off the interior courtesy lights after 10 minutes. This action normally occurs after 3 minutes on vehicles with less than 24 accumulated km (15 miles).

Was the Body Control Module (BCM) Diagnostic System Check performed?

Disconnect the body control module (BCM) connector C1.
Use a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) in order to measure the voltage between the BCM harness connector C1 terminal E and ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

Less than 2 V

Turn off all of the roof rail reading lamps.
Close the sunshade mirror covers.
Use a J 39200 DMM in order to measure the resistance between the BCM harness connector C1 terminal F and ground.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

Infinite

Did the interior courtesy lamps turn off after 10 minutes (or after 3 minutes on vehicles with less than 24 accumulated km)?

Repair a short to voltage in CKT 328 or CKT 1393, as needed.

Did you complete the repair?

Repair a short to ground in CKT 690.
