1999 - 2001 Chevrolet Tracker Front Dome Lamp Comes On Intermittent While Driving - kw dome front lamp

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.

Customer may advise the front dome lamp comes on and stays on for 15 second without the driver turning on the dome lamp. The rear dome light operates correctly.

Any momentary continuity to ground on circuit #3 or door jam switch from the front dome light will start a 15 second timer sequence in the front dome light solid state logic. The rear dome light does not use this feature. Perform standard diagnostics for intermittent chafe to ground on circuit 3 or intermittent door jam switch.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
