Spare Tire Cover Replacement Disc Style

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 473523  Size: SH
  1. Unlock and remove the spare wheel lock (3).
  2. Remove the spare wheel stowage cover nut.
  3. Remove the spare wheel stowage cover (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 473523  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the spare wheel stowage cover (2) to the spare tire. Secure with the cover with the nut.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the spare wheel stowage cover nut to 95 N·m (69 lb ft).

  3. Install and lock the spare wheel lock (3).

Removal Procedure

  1. Unzip the spare wheel cover. Lower the front portion of the cover in order to access to the spare wheel lock and the 3 retaining lug nuts.
  2. Remove the spare wheel lock and the 3 retaining lug nuts.
  3. Remove the spare tire and wheel assembly from the spare tire carrier.
  4. Remove the spare tire cover from the spare tire and wheel assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Important: Ensure that the spare tire cover stud holes are lined up with the wheel assemblies stud holes. This is done in order to properly retain the cover to the spare tire assembly and the spare tire carrier.

  1. Install the spare tire cover to the spare tire and wheel assembly.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the spare tire and wheel assembly to the spare tire carrier. Secure the assembly with the 3 retaining lug nuts..
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the spare tire and wheel assembly retaining lug nuts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  5. Install the spare wheel lock to the appropriate retaining lug.
  6. Zip the spare wheel cover closed.
