Engine Oil Pressure Sensor or Switch Replacement 1.6L Engine

Removal Procedure

The engine oil pressure sensor (1) is located in the engine block just above the oil filter (2).

    Object Number: 479414 Size: SH
  1. Raise and suitably support the hood.
  2. Disconnect the engine oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
  3. Remove the oil pressure sensor (1) from the block.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 479414 Size: SH
  1. Install sealing tape to the threads of the engine oil pressure sensor (1) prior to installing the sensor to the block.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the engine oil pressure sensor (1) to the block.
  4. Tighten
Tighten the engine oil pressure sensor to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  5. Connect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
  6. Close the hood.
