Removal Procedure

  1. Remove lumbar adjuster knob. Refer to Lumbar Support Knob Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 954640  Size: SH
  3. Unlock seat cover J channel (2)
  4. Pull up on seat back cover (3) to access lumbar adjuster (1).

  5. Object Number: 954627  Size: SH

    Important: The lumbar support must be in the relaxed position to disconnect the lumbar support cable.

  6. Remove the lumbar control cable (3) from the lumbar adjuster (2).
  7. Remove the screws (1) from the lumbar adjuster (2).
  8. Remove the lumbar adjuster (2) from the seat back frame.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the lumbar adjuster (2) to the seat back frame.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the screws (1) to the lumbar adjuster (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the lumbar control cable (3) to the lumbar adjuster (2).

  6. Object Number: 954640  Size: SH
  7. Reposition the seat back cover (3) and refasten the J channel (2).
  8. Install the lumbar adjuster knob. Refer to Lumbar Support Knob Replacement .
