The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some owners may comment of the front seat cushion cover becoming detached from the metal seat frame along the front edge of the seat.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Apply 3M Double Coated Polyester Tape 9690 to lower edge of the cushion frame as follows:
- Make sure cover "J" retainer is completely separated from the cushion frame along the front edge.
- Lift the cushion cover up and away from lower edge of cushion frame.
- Apply 9690 3M tape to lower front edge of the cushion frame.
- Remove tape backing.
- Roll tape under the cushion frame and attach to back side of frame.
- Pull cushion cover over front side of the tape.
- Secure the "J" retainer to the cushion frame ensuring the retainer is set across the entire length.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
