Special Tools

1. Remove the steering knuckle assembly from the vehicle. Refer to Steering Knuckle Replacement.
2. Remove the bolts from the wheel hub.



3. Remove the wheel hub from the knuckle assembly using the J 8092 or the DW340-010 (1).
4. Remove the bearing spacer (2).
5. Remove the brake rotor (3).



6. Remove the wheel bearing from the wheel hub using the DW220-020A-01  (1) and the DW220-020A-04  (2).




Note: Do not reuse the oil seal.

7. Remove the oil seal (1) from the wheel hub.




Note: Do not reuse the oil seal.

8. Remove the oil seal (1) from the knuckle.
9. Remove the wheel bearing (2).



10. Remove the outer bearing race (1).



11. Remove the inner bearing race (1).

1. Install the inner bearing race into the steering knuckle using the J 8092 with the CH 46558 or the DW340-010 (1, 2) with the DW340-020 (3).



2. Install the outer bearing race into the knuckle using the J 8092 with the CH 46558 or the DW340-010 (1, 2) with the DW340-020 (3).



3. Install the outer wheel bearing (2) into the knuckle.
4. Install the NEW oil seal (1).



5. Install the brake rotor (5) to the knuckle.
6. Position the wheel hub (4) on the knuckle.
7. Press the outer wheel bearing into the wheel hub and the knuckle using the J 8092 with the CH 46559 or the DW340-010 (1, 2) with the DW340-030 (3).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.




8. Install the bolts (1) and tighten to 65 N·m (48 lb ft).



9. Install the bearing spacer (1).



10. Press the inner wheel bearing into the wheel hub and the knuckle using the J 8092 with the CH 46559 or the DW340-010 (1, 2) with the DW340-030 (3).



11. Install the NEW oil seal (1).
12. Install the steering knuckle assembly to the vehicle. Refer to Steering Knuckle Replacement.
