Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1618020 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Open the tailgate.
  3. Remove the rear window wiper motor assembly. Refer to Rear Window Wiper Motor Replacement.
  4. Disconnect the tailgate lock rod (3).
  5. Remove the nuts from the tailgate lock cylinder (2).
  6. Remove the tailgate lock cylinder (1).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1618020 Size: SH
  1. Install the tailgate lock cylinder (1).

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the nuts to the tailgate lock cylinder (2) and tighten to 5 N·m (44 in lb).
  3. Connect the tailgate lock rod (3).
  4. Install the rear window wiper motor assembly. Refer to Rear Window Wiper Motor Replacement.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
