Removal Procedure
Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Disconnect the lower radiator hose and drain the engine cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling.
- Loosen the upper radiator hose clamp and disconnect the upper radiator hose (1).
- Loosen the surge tank hose clamp and disconnect the surge tank hose (2).
- Remove the electric cooling fan. Refer to
Engine Coolant Fan Replacement.
- Remove the radiator bolts (2).
- Remove the radiator support brackets (1).
- Remove the radiator (3).
Note: The radiator still contains a substantial amount of coolant. Drain the remainder of the coolant from the radiator into a drain pan.
- Inspect the radiator for a break, clog, or other damage.
Installation Procedure
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the radiator (2) with the mounting bolts and the support brackets (1) and tighten to
3.5-4.5 N·m (31-40 lb in).
- Install the electric cooling fan. Refer to
Engine Coolant Fan Replacement.
- Connect the upper radiator hose to the radiator (1).
- Connect the surge tank hose to the radiator (2).
- Secure each hose with hose clamps.
- Refill the engine cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
