Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
- Remove the steering column covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .
- Slide the immobilizer control unit toward the steering wheel until it slides off its mounting bracket.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors from the immobilizer control unit.
Installation Procedure
- Connect the electrical connectors to the immobilizer control unit.
- Slide the immobilizer control unit onto its mounting bracket.
- Install the steering column covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
- Reauthorize the keys. Refer to Programming Additional Keys .
- Reset the electronic control module (ECM) identification code. Refer to Programming Theft Deterrent System Components .
