Was the Cruise Control System Check performed?

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector at the Power Inverter Module.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Connect a test lamp between Power Inverter module connector cavity 24 of CKT 420(PPL) and ground.
  4. Depress the brake pedal.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector at the stoplamp switch.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the stoplamp switch connector cavity C CKT 420 (PPL) and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Locate and repair the short to the voltage between the stoplamp switch and the power inverter module.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Cruise Control System Check

  1. Reconnect the electrical connector at the stoplamp switch.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the stoplamp switch connector cavity C CKT 420 (PPL) and ground.
  3. Depress the brake pedal.

Does the test lamp light?

Adjust or replace the stoplamp switch.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the power inverter module.
