Did you perform the Horns Diagnostic System Check?

Inspect the horns for foreign objects or poor connections. Refer to Intermittents and Poor Connections Diagnosis in Wiring Systems

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Horns

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the horn connectors.
  2. Test the horn ground CKTs for continuity to ground. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is the resistance within the specified value?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Repair the horn ground CKTs. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Horns

  1. Test the horn controlled voltage CKT. Refer to Measuring Voltage In Wiring Systems.
  2. Operate the horn switch.

Does the voltage equal the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 7

Repair the controlled voltage CKT. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Adjust the horn current. Refer to
  2. If tone is still poor replace the horn(s). Refer to Horn Replacement - Left Side or Horn Replacement - Right Side .
