Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the high-voltage disconnect. Refer to High Voltage Disabling .
  2. Remove the Power Inverter Module (PIM). Refer to Power Inverter Module Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 325626 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the power steering pump reservoir hose at the top of the pump.
  4. Drain the steering fluid into a clean pan.
  5. Disconnect the steering gear pipe from the side of the pump.

    6. Object Number: 409118 Size: SH
  6. Remove the bolt connecting the ground harness to pump housing.

    7. Object Number: 325623 Size: SH
  7. Remove the following components from the pump:
    8. • Three screws
    • The nuts
    • The ground strap
  8. Remove the pump.
  9. Inspect the rubber mounting insulators. Replace the insulators as needed.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 325623 Size: SH
  1. Install the rubber mounting insulators with the flats facing inward toward the bracket.
  2. Position the pump on the insulators.

    3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the following components to the pump:
    4. • Three mounting screws
    • The nuts
    • The ground strap

    Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  4. Connect the power steering gear hose fitting to the side of the pump.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the fitting to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Connect the power steering reservoir hose to the top of the pump.

    6. Object Number: 409118 Size: SH
  6. Install the bolt connecting the ground harness to pump housing.
  7. Install the Power Inverter Module (PIM). Refer to Power Inverter Module Replacement .

    8. Object Number: 409112 Size: SH
  8. Connect the power steering pump power cable to the PIM.
  9. Install the high-voltage disconnect. Refer to High Voltage Enabling .
