Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 41712 Oil Pressure Switch Socket


    Object Number: 18712  Size: SH
  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the right fender wheelhouse extension. Refer to Wheelhouse Extension Replacement in Body Front End.
  3. Disconnect the engine oil pressure gauge sensor electrical connector (2).

  4. Object Number: 351674  Size: SH
  5. Using the J 41712 remove the engine oil pressure gauge sensor.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the engine oil pressure gauge sensor using the J 41712 .
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the engine oil pressure gauge sensor to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  3. Connect the engine oil pressure gauge sensor electrical connector (2).
  4. Install the right fender wheelhouse extension. Refer to Wheelhouse Extension Replacement in Body Front End.
  5. Lower the vehicle.
