Some early 1982 "S" Trucks may experience separation of the inner reinforcement adhesive from the hood outer panel. This was due to oven over bake at assembly plants during start of production.
The recommended adhesive for correction is a Uniroyal product, Silaprene 6326B, or equivalent available throuqh:

SERVICE PROCEDURE
(1) Raise hood and, if applicable, remove insulator.
(2) Remove all loosely adhering mastic between panels and clean underlying areas with either steel wool or sandpaper.
(3) Using the 1/4 inch thick piece of wood (or rubber) as a wedge between inner and outer panels, apply a generous amount of repair mastic, Silaprene 6326B, or equivalent in localized areas where mastic separation has occurred.
(4) Allow mastic adhesive to properly cure by baking (e.g. heat lamps) hood repair areas at 150 DEG for one (1) hour.
(5) Reinstall, if necessary, hood insulator to underhood panel.
