High Mount Stop Lamp Replacement 2.4 and 2.4 G

Removal Procedure

  1. Left deck lid to access electrical connector.

  2. Object Number: 591209  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the lamp sockets (1) from the lamp assembly (2).
  4. Pull and twist the bulbs to remove from the sockets.
  5. Remove the rear window panel trim. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Door in doors.
  6. Pull the lamp assembly forward to disengage it from the retaining slots (3).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 591209  Size: SH
  1. Install the lamp assembly (2) by aligning the tabs (3) and pushing rearward.
  2. Install the rear window panel trim. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Door in doors.
  3. Install the lamp sockets (1).

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 591195  Size: SH
  1. Remove the retaining screws (1).
  2. Remove the assembly.
  3. Twist the lamp socket to remove.
  4. Pull the bulb to remove from the socket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 591195  Size: SH
  1. Install the lamp sockets.
  2. Install the lamp assembly.
  3. Install the retaining screws.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the retaining screws to 2 (18 N·mlb in).

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the carpeting and the fasteners from the underside of the rear compartment.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector.

  3. Object Number: 591195  Size: SH
  4. Remove the assembly retaining screws (1).
  5. Remove the assembly. The 2.4Z assembly does not have serviceable bulbs and must be replaced as a unit.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 591195  Size: SH
  1. Install the assembly.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the retaining screws (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the retaining screws to 2 N·m(18 in lb).

  5. Connect the electrical connector.
  6. Install the rear compartment carpeting and the fasteners.
