Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
  3. Remove the defroster grille. Refer to Defroster Grille Replacement.
  4. Remove the end caps. Refer to IP Endcap Replacement.
  5. Remove the instrument panel trim pad. Refer to Trim Pad Replacement - IP.
  6. Remove the instrument cluster trim plate. Refer to IP Cluster Replacement.
  7. Remove the HVAC control. Refer to Control Assembly Replacement in HVAC Systems with A/C.
  8. Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
  9. Remove the air distribution ducts. Refer to Air Distributor Duct Replacement in Heating and Ventilation.
  10. Remove the instrument panel SIR module. Refer to Instrument Panel Module Replacement in SIR.
  11. Remove the steering wheel SIR module. Refer to SIR removal in SIR.
  12. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.
  13. Remove the steering column covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover - On vehicle. In Steering Wheel and Column.
  14. Remove the multifunction turn signal lever. Refer to Multifunction Turn Signal Lever Replacement - On Vehicle. In Steering Wheel and Column.
  15. Remove the washer switch. Refer to Washer Switch Replacement - On Vehicle. In Steering Wheel and Column.
  16. Remove the tilt lever. Refer to Tilt Lever - On Vehicle. In Steering Wheel and Column.
  17. Disconnect the instrument panel compartment lamp electrical connector.

    18. Object Number: 608759 Size: SH
  18. Remove the screws (2) and nuts (1) from the tie bar.
  19. Remove the panel from the tie bar.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 608759 Size: SH
  1. Install the panel to the tie bar.
  2. Install the screws (2) and nuts (1) to the tie bar (1).
  3. Connect the instrument panel compartment lamp electrical connector.
  4. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.
  5. Install the steering wheel SIR module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement. In SIR.
  6. Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover - On Vehicle. In Steering Wheel and Column.
  7. Install the multifunction turn signal lever. Refer to Multifunction Turn Signal Lever Replacement - On Vehicle. In Steering Wheel and Column.
  8. Install the tilt lever. Refer to tilt lever - On Vehicle. In Steering Wheel and Column.
  9. Install the air distribution ducts. Refer to Air Distributor Duct Replacement in Heating and Ventilation.
  10. Install the instrument panel SIR module. Refer to Instrument Panel Module Replacement in SIR.
  11. Install the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
  12. Install the HVAC control. Refer to Control Assembly Replacement in HVAC Systems with A/C.
  13. Install the instrument cluster trim plate. Refer to IP Cluster Replacement.
  14. Install the instrument panel trim pad. Refer to Trim Pad Replacement - IP.
  15. Install the end caps. Refer to IP Endcap Replacement.
  16. Install the defroster grille. Refer to Defroster Grille Replacement.
  17. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
