Tools Required

1. Remove the reverse idler shaft bracket bolts (1).
2. Remove the reverse idler shaft bracket (2).



3. Remove the reverse idler gear thrust washer from the reverse idler shaft (1).
4. Remove the reverse idler gear (3) and roller bearing (2) from the reverse idler shaft.
5. Remove the reverse idler rear thrust washer from the reverse idler shaft.
6. Remove the reverse idler shaft from the extension housing.



7. Remove the countershaft bearing race (3) by rotating back and forth while pulling from the extension housing.
8. Remove the countershaft shim (2) from the extension housing.
9. Remove the countershaft oil funnel (1) from the extension housing.



10. Carefully pry the output shaft seal (1) from the extension housing using a suitable tool..



11. Remove the mainshaft bearing race to extension housing retainer ring (2).

Important: Do not replace the bearing race unless inspection shows bearing race damage.

12. Remove the mainshaft bearing race (1) using J 26941 and J 23907 .
