"CREAK" NOISE IN REAR PASSENGER COMPARTMENT
Some vehicles may exhibit a "creak" noise in the rear passenger compartment. This noise is usually more apparent when the vehicle is turning.
This condition may be caused by the rear seat back rubbing against the adjacent sheet metal.
Corrective action for vehicles exhibiting the described condition is as follows:
1. Remove rear seat back following service manual procedures.
2. Install two (2) cover (protector), rear seat back edge, P/N 94844508 - one to each hook (hanger) that supports the seat back when installed. P/N 9484450.8 can be obtained GM Parts.
3. Install rear seat back following service manual procedures.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
