Models:2006-2007 Chevrolet Impala and Monte Carlo Without TPM



The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

On vehicles that are not equipped with Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM)

When programming key fobs after programming the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) the Tech 2 will display the message "Procedure terminated TPM learn mode requested" and it will not allow the key fobs to be programmed.

Recommendation/Instructions:

This is due to a software concern with Tech 2 software versions 27.007 and 27.008. NOTE: The keyfobs CAN be programmed through the DIC using the procedure from the Owner's Manual:

Remote Key

This display allows you to match the remote keyless entry transmitter to your vehicle. To match a remote keyless entry transmitter to your vehicle, do the following:

  1. Press the vehicle information button until PRESS the checkmark button TO RELEARN REMOTE KEY displays.
  2. Press the set/reset button. The message REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE will display.
  3. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the first transmitter at the same time for approximately 15 seconds. A chime will sound indicating that the transmitter is matched.
  4. To match additional transmitters at this time, repeat Step 3. Each vehicle can have a maximum of eight transmitters matched to it.
  5. To exit the programming mode, you must cycle the key to OFF.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
