The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Ambient air temperature displays dashes after replacing the HVAC control head.
Recommendation/Instructions:
The DIC will display dashes if the HVAC controller is not SPS programmed after replacement, or when an invalid outside air temperature is received, or when communication is lost with the HVAC controller. After replacing a HVAC control head, it must be SPS programmed or the ambient air temperature display on the DIC will display dashes.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
