Subject: | Rear Stationary Glass Replacement Tips |
Models: | 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo |
When this vehicle was produced, a lubricant was applied to the body surrounding the rear stationary glass. Whenever you replace the rear stationary glass, follow these steps to ensure proper adhesion of the urethane.
Important: Contamination of either the urethane path, or the glass prime path, with the plant-applied lubricant (or GM Synthetic Lubricant with Teflon, P/N 12371287 [in Canada, P/N 10953437]) will result in unwanted wind noise and/or a water leak.
Important: Ensure that no remaining lubricant is dragged onto the urethane surface in the next step.
Important: Do not allow lubricant to contaminate the exposed body urethane surface. Clean with Acrysol (denatured alcohol) should contamination occur.
